A man discovers that love can show up when you least expect it—and in a much different form—in this piping-hot romance from the author of Due Diligence and Just Business.
Brian Keppler, owner of Ground N’At, the coffee shop beneath SR Anderson Consulting, doesn’t have time for a relationship. His most recent girlfriend broke up with him because he’d become married to his shop, which is falling apart without his favorite barista, Justin.
As he struggles to stay afloat, the arrival of handsome British high-tech whiz Robert Ancroft becomes another complication. Rob quickly becomes a fixture at the shop with his sharp wit and easy charm, and Brian soon finds himself looking forward more and more to Rob’s visits—to the point where his heart skips a beat when he walks in.
But will Brian be able to come to terms with his previously unexplored sexual identity and find happiness now that he has a chance?

Review:
If forced to pick my favorite book in the Takeover series, I’d have to say that Daily Grind just might be it. A few days ago I might’ve said Just Business — though it’s a tight race between all of them. The whole series has been fun and sexy and intimate, all in different and wonderful ways. But Daily Grind was probably the most relatable — and managed to make me cry some bittersweet tears.
This fourth book takes a turn from Tech and Corporate America to the ins and outs of the local coffee shop where Brian has been keeping all the folks we’ve gotten to know and love hopped up on caffeine. It’s not Big Corp., but it’s still a business, and Brian’s stressed to the max with staffing issues and watching his bottom line head into the red zone. He’s hanging on by a thread when in walks Rob. Ginger haired, English accent Rob who is all sunshine and light.
Sparks flare. And Brian, who’d never in his thirty-eight years, explored one side of his bisexuality for Reasons…now has REASONS.
I LOVED THIS — and I can’t say that enough. Bisexuality is such a broad spectrum, and to see representation in this way, taking those first steps somewhat later in life, fully owning who he is, not fighting the attraction — and Rob being such a patient and accepting partner — it was beautiful. So well done.
There’s not much in the angst department when it came to these two— which I was grateful for. Though no worries, Brian is stubborn in other ways, and Rob is pretty much a saint without being a pushover.
Anna Zabo has managed to carve out quite a community with interwoven paths and these dynamic couples on the go. Pulling the coffee shop, Grounds N’at, into the fold to give Brian and Rob their place has made this into more of a neighborhood, a slice of Main Street USA, where everyone belongs. A good coffee shop can do that.
For those new to the series, I think this could be read as a standalone. But I’m such a sucker for a good series that I’ll also tell you you’d be missing out if you didn’t snatch up the first three books.
